Alpine F1 Team partners with Indra Group to deploy AI technology

BWT Alpine Formula One Team has announced a significant new partnership with Indra Group, the Spanish multinational specialising in technology and defence, as Formula 1 prepares to enter a transformative regulation era in 2026.

The collaboration centres on the integration of IndraMind, Indra Group’s sovereign artificial intelligence platform, into Alpine’s operational and engineering ecosystem. The partnership is designed to strengthen technological innovation, advanced intelligence, and operational excellence within one of the most demanding data environments in global sport: the FIA Formula One World Championship.

AI meets Formula 1 performance

Under the agreement, IndraMind will be deployed and validated within Alpine’s Formula 1 operations, enabling real-time analysis and correlation of the vast quantities of data generated across race weekends. From car performance metrics and strategy modelling to scenario prediction, the AI platform aims to enhance decision-making in a sport where margins are measured in milliseconds.

Thanks to its modular and interoperable architecture, IndraMind can operate across cloud and edge environments — a crucial capability in modern Formula 1, where rapid data processing, reliability, and security are essential.

Leadership reactions

Ángel Escribano, Executive Chairman of Indra Group, highlighted the alignment between Formula 1 and the company’s technological ambitions:

“Formula One constitutes the ultimate expression of competitiveness, innovation, and technological precision. Partnering with BWT Alpine Formula One Team allows us to demonstrate our capabilities in a real, high-demand environment.”

Indra Group CEO José Vicente de los Mozos added that the collaboration reflects the company’s broader vision:

“This partnership shows how combining technology, industry, and sport can amplify innovation and project Brand Spain on the international stage.”

From the team’s side, Flavio Briatore, Executive Advisor at Alpine, emphasised the timing of the deal:

“As Formula One enters a new technological era, the integration of IndraMind into our engineering ecosystems will help optimise our racing operations and support the development of innovative technological advances.”
