BREAKING: Christian Horner to Exit Red Bull with Immediate Effect

Red Bull Racing has today confirmed that Christian Horner will leave his position as CEO and team principal with immediate effect. Horner, who guided the team since its debut season in 2005, departs after a 20-year tenure that yielded eight drivers’ and six constructors’ championships

The announcement did not specify the reasons for his sudden exit.

Laurent Mekies Takes the Helm

In parallel, Red Bull has named Racing Bulls team boss Laurent Mekies as Horner’s successor. Mekies, 48, moves up from the sister squad to assume full CEO duties at Red Bull Racing. He will officially lead the team into the next round of the championship, with his first race at the helm expected to be the Belgian Grand Prix on July 27.

Alan Permane Promoted to RACING BULLS Team Principal

As part of the reshuffle, Racing Director Alan Permane will be elevated to Team Principal at Racing Bulls. Permane brings over 24 years of Formula 1 experience—from Benetton, Renault, Alpine, to Sporting Director at Racing Bulls—and will step into his new role immediately
